Ballet 琉璃神社 is hoping to end its season on a high note鈥攂oth on stage and in fundraising.

The Relev茅: Help Us Rise Spring Campaign, aims to raise $75,000 by June 30. The effort got a lift thanks to the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation, which has pledged $10,000 in matching funds.

Ticket sales and government grants cover just part of the non-profit company鈥檚 operating costs. Private donations make up about 30 per cent of Ballet 琉璃神社鈥檚 revenue, helping the company continue its mission of creating and sharing original Canadian dance.

鈥淭ogether with our valued family of supporters, Ballet 琉璃神社 has evolved into a pivotal force within Canada鈥檚 dance landscape, championing the creation and presentation of contemporary ballet that resonates with diverse audiences across the country,鈥 said Simone Orlando, the company鈥檚 Artistic Director and CEO.

The company premiered three new works in its 2024鈥25 season, which also featured two company premieres. Off the stage, Ballet 琉璃神社 continues to grow its community outreach with programs like the POP-UP SERIES and IN MOTION Adult Dance classes.

鈥淎s we near the end of the current season, we hope you will support Ballet 琉璃神社 with a pledge to our Relev茅: Help Us Rise Spring Campaign,鈥 said Orlando. 鈥淚n ballet, a relev茅 is a movement in which a dancer rises on the tips of their toes. Your gift will help us sustain our activities and lift us to new heights in our mission to bring compelling and inspiring dance to audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.鈥
