Family and friends continue to rally support for a Vernon woman who continues to rally herself.
The Morning Glory Beach Party will run this Saturday, July 19, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Paddlewheel Park in Okanagan Landing in support of Kianna Lacroix, who suffered serious injuries, including a head injury, in a head-on highway vehicle collision with a semi truck June 22.
The beach party will include an auction with proceeds going to help Lacroix's recovery.
There will be music with DJ sets from Dank Sinatra and Tayz, as well as the vocal stylings of Shalina.
Lacroix was first sent to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops following her incident. She was in a coma for a few days following the crash, and suffered a broken femur, broken wrist, and fragments into her skull. Lacroix was transferred in early July to Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
"Thank you for everyone in their prayers who kept me on this side," wrote Lacroix on her Facebook page. "I鈥檝e had a few surgeries and custom rods to get where I am now and it鈥檚 made feel so blessed to be here on this earth. Thank you to everyone whose taken the time to reach out and donate things to me."
