Salmon Arm's Armilla Tech scored a touchdown with NFL coach Mike Smith as the new co-owner and spokesperson of the company.
Armilla, founded by Lance Heron in Silver Creek, offers cutting edge technology with its On the Field sports communication system, making this collaboration a great fit.
In a media release, Smith is called the "winningest coach in Atlanta Falcon's history," and has also been named NFL Coach of the Year four times. The former player with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers now has an extensive coaching background with the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, the Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith also won a Super Bowl ring as a defensive coach with the Ravens in 2001.
Through his coaching career, Smith became acquainted with Armilla's technology when he used it in the Hula Bowl.
